Cassy Garcia (Fall 2023 - Present) Cassy is a graduate student in the Developmental Psychology Master’s Program at SFSU. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Intensive Psychology from UC Santa Cruz, where she gained experience as a research assistant in the Developmental Psychology Lab under the direction of Professor Maureen Callanan. She is currently involved with the STAR Lab as a research assistant. Her research interests include the development of resilience and self-worth in Latinx/Latine first-generation college students, more specifically considering how familial roles impact their college experience. In her free time, Cassy loves taking her dog, Arlo, on adventures. She and Arlo love going to Dutch Bros for coffee and pup cups. |
Lin Acampado (Spring 2024 - Present) Lin is an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University in [grad date here]. In his free time, Lin enjoys photographing weird and odd things in the world and spending time with his cat Yori. |

Trinity Hernandez (Fall 2023 - Present) Trinity is an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from San Francisco State University in the Spring of 2024. She is currently involved with the STAR Lab as a research assistant. Her research interests include studying the impact that adverse childhood experiences, stress, and trauma have on relationships and physical and mental health. She is also interested in exploring cognition and perception. In her free time, Trinity enjoys making arts and crafts, thrifting, antiquing, getting her hair done, watching movies, and eating food. |
Madalyn Loprena (Spring 2024 - Present) Madalyn is a post-bachelor volunteer research assistant for the STAR Lab. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University, where she also worked as a research assistant for the ARC lab under the direction of Dr. Juliana Karras. Her interests include forwarding her knowledge and skills in the clinical field of psychology to provide care to underprivileged BIPOC youth in need of mental health assistance and advocacy. In her free time, Madalyn enjoys to go to the beach and playing Animal Crossing with her friends. |
